Thursday Poets’ Rally

Mission Statement:

Participants are poets who are dedicated to spend the whole day promoting and celebrating poetry. By volunteering to reach out, make positive comments or encouragements to blogs that are new, these poets demonstrate leadership capacity and become backbone of future poetry advocacy leaders and seasoned poetry readers and writers.

Meanwhile, we welcome poets who are represented as fresh poets to join our leadership group under their own wish or motivation.  We expect our group to grow and expand  so that more poets are inspired, more poems are composed and shared, and  more joy or fulfillment in poetry is discovered.

Rules:

#1: If you are a poet who is new and want to join our Thursday Poets’ Rally, post a poem in your own blog, and comment here with Your Poem link Included to let me know, I will add your on, visit 18 participants to fulfill the requirement.

#2: If you are previous participants, please feel free to visit either 18 fresh poets in my list, or visit 9 participants that are new to you, 9 fresh poets in my list.

#3: Very important, please make sure to comment back to return compliments when you are given comments by our participants.

#4: After you have commented a minimum 18 blogs, let me know and you will remain on the list the following week as active poets.

  4. Hello Jingle.

Jannie Funster said this was the place to go for some poetry interaction. She gave you some high regards, and I would agree. This place is pretty cool.

I have been writing for years but still consider myself a fledgling poet. I started blogging only a few months ago, but not many people reading my stuff yet. Some of my stuff is on my blog, some has yet to be transferred, and some has yet to be written… LOL

  24. Jingle, the entry i gave you on Week 25 is a fresh and new one and it is submitted to the rally in the first place before i post it up to Poet United today, I am terrible sorry if it is not allowed to post some where else, I will remove that if it is necessary, sorry for any inconvenience caused for you.

    • you did not get my POINT,

Rally entry must be fresh, never submitted to any other place BEFORE, which you did is true,

Also require that you will NOT submit your poem else where after the Rally is over….

Hope that you know what I mean.

I will simply mark down what you did so that I remember you also submitted to Poets United, nothing personal here,
I required everyone the same, and another poet also invalidated the rule..

but you can join in week 28 via this link: Poets Rally Week 28:
      http://jingleyanqiu.wordpress.com/2010/09/08/thursday-poets-rally-week-28-september-9-15/
by post a entry poem under the link and comment for 18 participants.

or wait until next week, i will have Rally week 29 post up on Sept 22, 2010….

Meanwhile, this Sunday, you are invited to join our Poetry Potluck: http://jinglepoetry.blogspot.com/,
if you wish to be part of the potluck, sign in to follow the blog,
link in 1 to 3 poems between American central time Sunday, 8pm to Tuesday, 8pm…
      Thanks!

      • Hi, Jingle.

I’ve just linked the poems for the Poetry Potluck. They were written last year, I think, and I hadn’t started writing the new project I’m working in (The Universe On The Tip Of A Pen) at that time. These poems are part of the previous project called ‘Tricotomic’. I hope the readers like them.

        Hugs

    • If you participate one week, the 2nd week you would remain as active poet- you won’t be counted as “new”.. this was how when I had joined.. Check the agreement details on time period this time.. :D
      Hope this helps
      Happy Rally..
Ji, please correct me if I am wrong. (I remember how I had kept asking questions when I was a newbie here.. :P )

      Lovies..
      xox

      • Olivia:

First time participants are first time participants, they are required to comment for participants to meet the requirement…

FRESH poets to explore include all kinds of poets, active poets may be included, also, brand new ones I find from word press could be included…I make this list as a combination of

Active poets I wish to honor for a particular week,
NEW talents from web to share and try to welcome them as part of the FIRST Time participants, for this part, they are new to our community, upon join our Rally, they become first time participants…

let me know if I have confused you.
This week, I have poets from Monday poetry potluck list, because some linked in late and did not get much comments from us, thus I tried to make that up by honoring them in FRESH poets to explore…
Last week, I have all of poetry potluck officials listed as FRESH poets to explore, because I wanted to show appreciation…I could not always honor officials…if I do, I try to include all of us.

        • Nopes- no confusion now- Thanks a big bundle for your reply.
I kind of overlooked the commenting part- very important part- All clear.. you are such a darling.. :D
Makes much sense about your selection criteria of the “To explore” list- you rock- as always..
          Lovies..

    reclamation

Small things are gigantic. A heart on fire in the middle of the ocean. One lonely tree on a hilltop. An old couple holding hands at the market. A clock on the mantle counting down the moments.

I thrive on pretense and assumption, on hope and yearning. Some corner of meager existence, where things make sense in a small way, and little things are just little things, with a spill or two along the way.

Comfortably weary and restless. I hear there’s only so much time. And sometimes everything just has to be slow like snow falling. And sometimes there is no reason, just an idea.

A concentrated mediocrity. Boiled down, reduced, reclaimed, returned. A lifetime isn’t enough. There’s never enough time or hunger to go all the way round.

But to need a little less. To let in a little more. Of the world. Of you. So put on your face. And your dancing shoes.

    Life waits for no one.

  57. Hi Jingle… So I was wondering if I could participate in next week’s “Thursday Poets’ Rally”? I actually read some entries and I thought, “Why not write a collective poem about these writers?” So I came up with this poem that I wrote specially ofr the poets I liked, with the particular verses of my poem linked to how I feel about each respective poets writing. Meh, I can’t really explain it that clearly… Here’s the link if you want to read it:
