Thursday Poets’ Rally Week 10 (March 18-March 24, 2010)

Hello, Everyone, How Are YOU?

Welcome to Thursdays Poets’ Rally week 10.

Mission Statement:

Participants are poets who are dedicated to spend the whole day promoting and celebrating poetry. By volunteering to reach out, make positive comments or encouragements to blogs that are new, these poets demonstrate leadership capacity and become backbone of future poetry advocacy leaders and seasoned poetry readers and writers.

Meanwhile, we welcome poets who are represented as fresh poets to join our leadership group under their own wish. We expect our group to grow and expand  so that more poets are inspired, more poems are composed and shared, and  more joy or fulfillment in poetry is discovered.

Rules:

#1: If you are a poet who is new and want to join our Thursday Poets’ Rally, comment here and let me know, I will add your on.

#2: Post a poem in your OWN blog on Thursdays.

#3: Go ahead and visit the blogs on the list, please make sure to make a minimum 12 positive comments on 12 different blogs where you have never commented before. This can be done on Thursday, or by next Thursday.

#4: Very important, please make sure to comment back when you are given comments.

#5: After you post a poem, commented a minimum 12 blogs, let me know and you will remain on the list the following week as active poets.

PS:Your link will NOT appear as participants UNLESS you commented below, I need your word of approval so that we have mutual understanding and respect upon this event. Thank U in Advance and Have FUN on the Rally!

  1. Jingle sweetie as you know I don’t have a blog other than Billy’s public blog, but I want you to know I will go and leave a comment on as many of these as I can. I have been having chest pains three days now off and on, and will be seeing my doctor at 3:00 PM today so just in case I will be in the hospital tomorrow, I will be visiting some of these blogs today and will do some tomorrow, if I am at home. Hope that is ok.

    Love Vi

  12. Dear Jingle—I was upset to read the post by KW this morning. I’m sure it must have upset you to post it. I do not think you needed to. The rules of Thursday Poets Rally clearly state that participants are to comment positively on 12 poems. The comments by KW were negative, and they were badgering ones, without anything constructive to say. I think JB was right not to allow that negativity on his site. I have not read KW’s poems, but I have read JB’s and many other poets in your rally. For someone to take the time to reflect on their life, and find the words to express it, is rare in today’s world. JB, and all of us, are doing this. It is to be encouraged, not disparaged. I do write rhymed poems—mostly sonnets—and I am always pleased to find someone who is entering into the world of formal poetic structure. It’s a tough place, and we only learn to be better by writing and trying out new approaches. My villanelle for last week was not so good because I am just learning the form, but because of the positive comments I received on my idea I went back and re-wrote it. It is still not great, but it is better. And it inspired me to edit this week’s sonnet more carefully. I am happy to have found your rally, and I look forward to participating for many more weeks, and reading more of everyone’s work.

    1. Hello,

thank you for the deep thoughts and reflections of your Rally Experience.
I visited his blog a moment ago and find that he is nothing like one of us.
I bet many poets or bloggers who subscribed to my blog already read his comment, I will have to remove his comment so that our poets’ feelings are not hurt.

You have made an excellent contribution to my Rally.
There are always negative people, they attack, make bad assumption, …We must move on and ignore such .
      😉
