Can U B Perfect?

Perfectionism steals your heart

Like a cheating mate,

It makes your life fall apart

By falsely sealing your fate.

——————————————————–

It slaps U on the face

Like a losing hand,

It leaves no trace

As if it is wind.

——————————————————–

“The homework is too tough,”

“The music is too loud,”

“U did not perform good enough

To buoy the mood of the crowd.”

——————————————————–

Did U hear that?

Can U tolerate that?

Criticism keeps flying everywhere,

When being perfect is the only thing people care.

—————————————————————

When U allow perfectionism to make U whine,

U lose all the fun.

U must put this to an end,

Because U deserve the freedom to live, love, break, and mend.

Hello, How R U today?

Can U B Perfect?

Let me know how perfectionism could ruin the nature of rainy, sunny, and cloudy days in life.

  1. “You could have done better”
    “If only you try harder”
    “You are not responsible enough”
    “You should be more hardworking”
    “You should be more initiative”
a comment from a parent to his daughter,
sounds like she can never please him ,right?

Have you a great weekend, Jingle.

  2. I enjoyed your poem. You are so right about trying to be perfect. I especially liked the line “It makes your life fall apart.” It sure can!

    Enjoy your day!

  3. Someone once told me that the most beautiful things in the world are a bit imperfect. Afterall, would anyone give Tower of Pisa a second glance, if it was standing straight? 😉 😀

A very apt topic Jingle and you wrote it beautifully, like always 🙂

  4. Thanks for stopping by my site. Your blog is awesome. i used to write a lot of poetry, but have turned slacker lately. I’ll be back to check out more of your stuff and others!

  5. Hello, Ji.
First of all, I want to thank you for your comment and to apologise for not being able to answer immediately. I was travelling back home; 1200 km of snowy roads accross Balkans MUST be taken as a good reason, I hope!

I love your positivity and your good spirit but I must admit that I also feel a bit uncomfortable as I do not always manage to deflect attention from the difficulties often encountered in our everyday lives.
I hope that the readings of your joyful and kind words might change this cloudy thoughts of mine.

And… I feel I can be everything BUT perfect!
    Pink regards and happy Sunday.

    1. Dear Me:

it is a pleasure to have you in with us! 😉

  6. Trying to be perfect can ruin flirting with the opposite sex, since perfectionism can make one angry all the time about falling short, so that’s a ruined day right there.

  7. i am channeling a 4th grade me who wrote this

    -you plan to do that
    -you plan to do this
    -the longer you wait
    -the more you miss

    🙂

  8. Hi Ji .. thanks for enjoying the ‘fun’ post on my blog .. good to see you there.

Today – I’m not perfect! My mood is not in poem mode .. sometimes it comes about – just too much going on pro-tem ..

Great comments from everyone – lovely to see – have a good weekend .. Hilary

  9. Is this dress perfect with these shoes?
Is this newspaper perfect for the news?

Is this report perfect to please them all?
Is this the perfect height before I fall?

Is it the perfect gift to give?
Is it the perfect life to live?

    For you, Jingle! Hugs!

  10. Okay you know how to bring the tears to someone.. I just was so touched by all of the kind words you said to me. It was so nice to hear such kind words about me. I loved the poem and I thank you…. Have a great evening..

  11. Perfectionism is my trouble when I write in Finnish. It’s good to write in English when you must accept to write like a child.

I am too childish to be too much serious.

    I love your meaningful posts!

  12. Very beautiful poem, my friend! I was wondering what kind of surprise you have for us today 😉
We aren’t perfects! We just think that we do things perfect, but in fact we can’t succeed to touch perfection even that we try it.
I think that perfection could ruin our way to think, our way to live and in the end makes us to not feel good in our body. We keep searching something that we can’t find it. I try to do what I like in life without being perfect. If I try to be perfect I can’t enjoy life as much as I would like it and this is sad.

Enjoy every moment of your life,my friend! 😉

  13. Hello Jingle,

    How right you are!
We are but fragments of reality
And can’t be perfect by ourselves
Yet I feel, in some mysterious way,
Everyone is whole inside of themselves
For how else can the world hold together?
If individually we don’t encompass it all within?

  14. Life would lose its value if everything was perfect and people who strive for perfection are just wasting their time. It seems like the highest thing you can achieve, the highest level of self-actualization, the limit for success… but just like it can never be “tomorrow,” you can never be “perfect.”

  15. have been fighting alot with my tend to perfectionism and taking care of the tiny small details..
I’m still struggling.. But perfectionism and criticism is a part of my virgo sign! Sigh!
But i’ll try to enjoy life more as you said here jingle 🙂
