A Math Problem 2 Solve:
Question: A city bank pays interest on savings at a rate of 4% per year. If a student has
$6, 700 deposit, what is the interest earned after a year? How much is left in the bank
after three years?
Hint: rate=4%=0.04, principal=$6, 700,
Formulas: One Year Interest=rate x principal=___ x______=_______
Three Year Interest=rate x principal x time=___ x ____ x ____=_______
Money is the bank after 3 years=Principal + Three Year Interest=___ +__=___
Good Luck! 😉 😉 🙂
And Alphabe-Thursday (Blue) at:
I have too many blogs to visit to take time to do math, but this is an original blue one.
Happy Blue Monday!
hi dear, glad this is back, the answer is just over 300 dollars I think lol xxx
Just love these little challenges you setup…I never get them right…but they’re fun to think about…well most of the time. 😉
Not a “blue” Monday when you make math fun . . . still don’t get the answers right, but at least it gives the gray matter a different kind of workout. Thanks, Ji! 🙂
I love the blue images and the math challenge…this is fun. Heartspell
I had once quite foolishly stated that I am a Math geek… So let’s see if I can answer your question here… Is it $7504?
But I KNOW this is a trick question!! Which student ever has $6700 in a bank!!! 😉
Love your posts, Ji !! They are so colorful, pleasant to the eye, they take away the blues, and they always get me thinking ! 🙂
Many hugs…
You Rock on every level girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!!! Mwah x
all of it is left. The student didn’t remove anything.
Oh, Jingle I love you, but I am terrible at math.
I love my calculator, tho. It helps me out every day.
xo
I am sure there is a trick here…”How much is left in the bank after three years?”…this question makes me think ??!!…and also because they earn interest on interest???? My answer would be $7536.59…but then, I’m not good with Math challenges! Thanks Ji…fun fun fun! x
Also…why a student!!!???? Think the trick is JUST in that …Ha ~ Hugs x
Kavita is correct!
first one, 0.04x 6,700=$268
simply use formula 6,700+0.04 x$6,700×3=$7,504..
i used 7,600 at first, which does not match the number given in the question, the answer is incorrect.
Now the above solution is CORRECT!
thanks for reading!
LOL…darn maths!! xxx
Phheewww.. So, I am kinda alright at Math then… 🙂
You saved me again today, Jingle 😉
Luv ya!
Cute blue post.
I quit doing math problems when I graduated from college!!! I wanted to use my Calculus book for target practice but my kids wouldn’t let me! !! (true story) But this is a neat idea for a post!!!
Hmmm.. that’s interesting challenge here.. made me think hahaha.. visiting from Blue Monday.. thanks for dropping by.
reminds me why math always gave me the blues
I would have a lot more to spend at the store. lol 🙂
lol make me realize i had forgotten all my math XD, and my dreadful math teacher in high school XD worksheets every single day =X T.T but tihnking back it kinds of help 😀
Ok Jingle, that was good! I would have loved to figure that one out. Original for Blue Monday, hooray, someone is creative…smiles.
If the student is Jade in her long gone student days, there will be no more money in the bank in less than two weeks, interests notwithstanding :-)))))
Cool thing you got going on here! [clap clap clap]
Answers are:
1) $268
2) $7504
Wow!! After a long time Jingle. 🙂
My answers are $268 for the first one and $7504 for the second one.
Oh my…it’s not even seven O’clock in the morning, I haven’t had my tea, and I’m pretty sure my eyes are not even focused yet. There is no way I can do that yet. But, as much as I would love to avoid it…I’m thinking I will be back to figure it out. These things have a tendency to bother me until I figure them out.
I loved your blue symols but my mind switched off immediately I saw the Maths!!!!r
Interesting post. Enjoyed doing the calculation. 😛
Nice Blues 🙂
Liked it……remembered by school days. 🙂
What a fun post. Math is too long ago for me. LOL
Did I mention I gave you an award? I had some computer glitches and I’m not sure my comments took.

Beautiful designs.
Well, that’s a different way to show a Blue Monday! Thanks for visiting my blog!
love to read the answers. 🙂
Seriously, now it looks like I’m just copying when I say $268 for one year of interest and after three years there is $7504 in the bank.
Great blue math question!
No one told me there would be math…..aaghhh…
i dont do math … it makes my head hurt just looking at it …arrrrgggg!
Ouch! That sprained my brain – I have to be careful about encounters with unexpected math early in the morning!
Love your blue images here! And I love a challenge, puzzle…of any kind… but I am so very late, late, late in my blog reading rounds…so, I am thankful that you helped us along with including the formulas :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
(If you get a chance, I’d love if you would stop by my place :o)
Ouch. My brain is suffering some severe strain here. Math? An equation? ACCCKKK!!!!!!!
I think the answer is two apples but I’m not 100% sure!
Thanks for a really different link to Rainbow Summer School!
You made me laugh. And wonder. And swear. Just a teeny bit.
A+
