2 Times 2 Makes A Family of 4

9 times 1 is 9,

10 minus 1 is also 9,

11 minus 2ย ย  is still 9,

Math tricks could be divine!

1 plus 1 is 2,

2 people can make life cool.

2 times 2 makes a family of 4,

Toys and books are all over the floor.

4 times 6 is a class in school,

24 kids do math in a zoo.

5 times 6 is a banquet near the ocean,

Where decent folks do their celebration.

6 times 6 is 36,

You see pigeons dwell on streets 4 weeks.

7 times 7 is the joy of heaven,

60 minus 49 is eleven.

8 times 8 is the island near a shore,

10 times 10 makes the perfect score.

9 times 9 sends you back home

10 minus 9 is the rhythm of the poem.

Poets United (Thursday Thinking Tank: Family)

Math, Music, Hope, Drunk Driving, and More…

There are several counting songs published in contemporary Americaย  for young children to learn number counting, in particular,ย  from one to ten. I have spent some time studying it! Today I have redone it and share the rephrased version to fit my themes of math, hope, poetry, andย  natural and healthy living in this blog.ย  I hope that you enjoy it.

Singing-along this song is a good way to renew your energy, ponder about the funny side of math, and reduce road rages caused by drunk driving!

Counting Poetry (Part I):

1 2 3 4 5, you deserve to live a healthy life,

6 7 8 9 10, let your love erase all the pain.

Why do you always have hope?

Because YEAH is better than NOPE.

Why do you want to help me?

You will figure it out someday!

1 2 3 4 5, let’s learn how to survive,

6 7 8 9 10, keep going and you can win!

I am wondering how do you know?

Because it is true, I can tell!

Do I need to pay a fee?

Nope, that you learn your lessons is the key!

1 2 3 4 5, if drunk, don’t drive,

6 7 8 9 10, these are tips to follow, laws to learn!

Why are you mentioning this though?

Because it is important for you to know!

How does it make sense to me?

Since safety first, it is supposed to be!

(Stay Tuned,ย  Part II to be continued….)

I find this link is very helpful for advanced students, such as high school students or college freshman, to fine tune their skills in solving some mathematical problems.
