Like the knap of a kitten’s back,
Do you ruffle the page
to show your waves of rage?
Do you Rally your courage
Trying not to discourage?
Do you rabble up the rouse
To insult someone’s spouse?
Do you plant more pain
Or figure out a way to explain?
Maybe you shall refrain
From emotional explosion,
I will try to remain
in a position
Where I am nowhere
near
artificial fame,
man-made shame,
Luxurious repasts,
Hatred blasts,
Big bigotry,
Polluted factory….
I will lean back,
Take a deep breath,
…

Great advice in verse. When we feel disappointment it is too easy to act out our frustration. We need to lighten up. Your verse is such a sweet way to express this truth. Blessings to you…
Very good advice…enjoyed the post.
Definitely words to live by!!

Tickled my funny bone, Jingle, but an important message. So appreciate your ideals. They are real …
I’m with slpmartin…taking a moment to breathe makes all the difference in the world…thanks for sharing. (^_^)
I so love this….You started it nicely and followed it with a vim. The rhymes were cool as well and the title was the icing on the cake.
Have a splendid week.
Cheers!
heaven forbid dear words going flat lol excellent post xx
Near polluted factory don’t take a deep breath or you’ll fall flat..haha
Great blasting thoughts full of courage. tQ
Nicely expressed poem!
Great read and a perfect read for me to start a new week Jingle…well done and so happy to see it’s for Monday Potluck Whoohooo…will post in about half an hour 🙂 🙂 🙂
Clever messages inside this poem. Smart advice. I like the rhyming words too.
Cute picture – contrasts with the strong stress/emotion of the poem
This makes a person think Jingle. it poses so many questions……
Leaning back and taking a deep breath is almost always a good idea.
Excellent Jingle. It’s a wonderful thing to be a peace maker. Have a wonderful Monday.
:))
Great poem! Makes me want to become a hermit to avoid all the negativity.
Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2010/09/26/when-i-leave-my-body/
Fun to follow this through and it makes me think about what I do when my words are flat.
Ha ha, smart and funny. So true, I wish everyone thought the same way!! In life, this principle will help us be composed in spite of hurtful words.. If someone says something mean, my first instinct is to walk away because an argument will be just be ugly and hard on the heart..
I love your attitude!
Rachana.
Very good advice and constructive thoughts given in this poem . I love the kittens! Heartspell
Jingle, this poem is great.
Where does your wisdom come from?

Wow!!! Awesome poem. Loved it.
Wow!! So cute post Jingle.
A deep breathe is good when the fight doesn’t really matter but then when does it really matter or would problems be best dealt with calm thought?…Hmmm great poem!
Sometimes words don’t quite say all we need to say. It’s time to take a deep breath and start this week out right. Thanks for sharing.
Where in the hell do you find the time to write inspired poetry with all the other amazing things you do for poets on the web? You always manage to put your philosophy into your poems; that’s an admirable trait. Excellent poem, and thanks for posting. It was a fine read.
crb.

You outdid yourself here Jingle! Always better to take deep breaths- lots of them.
I did not understand the comment you sent me. Who am I supposed to visit?
That’s a very clever way to put forth a super cool message! Nicely said, Ji!
Sitting back, and taking a deep breath always helps!!
Thank you for linking it with poetry potluck, my friend.. reading your work is always a treat!!! You ROCK!!! 🙂
I was moved and amazed by the depth of this piece
I know this comment should be about the poem itself… but omg, those kittens are sooo cute. Its distracting (in a good way)!
Wow…
“artificial fame,
man-made shame”
Powerful. Great use of words. This flowed from the screen as I read it and made me think.
Nice advice–good flow to it, too. Clever, with some nice rhymes–an all around lovely addition to the Potluck!
Very important message in this one, Ji.. great work 🙂
intelligent advice for mental peace, for oneself and to a great limit others too, sometimes it good to follow your words for the sake of every one.
the topics you said are so complex that they often differ from one person to another, so nothing concrete can be said about them but the suggestions should be kept in mind. 🙂
Well done. It grew it strength as it went along.
Such important questions! …and the answer came so naturally…Just take a breath…The confusion or perhaps anxiety that can be felt at the start eases as you move through the poem. There is a release (I FELT it) at the end. Working through such big stuff in poetry is courageous! You are a brave, amazing, loving , talented individual!
and those kittens are so cute I want to eat them (is that wrong?)
very nicely versed thought Jingle! 🙂 good one!
a poignant and inspiring poem!!

Jingle, I love this right to the very end!! Bravo!!
Nice Jingle!

I misread it to read “the snap of a kitten’s back” I like “Like the knap of a kitten’s back,” so much better! Cute photo!
Aww, beautiful kittens! This was a joyful poem. I will lean back too and take a breath. Have a wonderful day.
If you are a highly spirited creature all of those things will happen, I think. When your creativity is hindered is there anything worse for the artist? I think not. Beautifully crafted.
Great post, containing a wonderful message..
You are wise indeed!
Your sentiment and poem are true. A lovely gift in a sweet little package. Thanks, Ji, for putting it up on potluck.
